Residential Aged Care Fees and Charges

Did you know that Residential Aged Care has two main services: Respite Care (temporary stay) and Permanent Care (indefinite stay)? Respite Care allows a maximum stay of 63 days per financial year, and you are required to contribute towards your care during this period.

  • The care fee is 85% of a full pension.
  • You can spread out your 63 days of respite bookings throughout the financial year.
  • Some providers charge additional service fees (negotiable/non-negotiable).

Permanent Care is when you permanently move from your home into a care facility, and you are required to contribute towards both your care and accommodation, based on the government’s assessment of your income and assets.
